Who is Jeff Sawyer, you ask?
Welcome to my blog. As you can tell, my name is Jeff Sawyer and I want to thank you for stopping by. I developed this space on the blogosphere with the hopes of providing some useful tidbits that will make the chore of attaining and managing your domicile a little easier. Scattered throughout this blog you’ll come across valuable tips, tricks, and techniques designed to save you time and money on a variety of home improvement projects.
Background
I am a certified commercial energy auditor and real estate investor. Ever since purchasing my first one bedroom condominium in 1984 I’ve been bitten by the real estate “bug.” I’m the kind of guy that goes away on vacation and the first thing I want to do is run into a Realtor office to grab a copy of the local listings. God forbid some golden opportunity goes unseen.
I’ve bought and sold all types of real estate including raw land, condominiums, single family and multi-family homes. Most of the properties required some form of “fixing-up.” Several involved extensive remodeling and expansion. I was the general contractor during the construction of my current home. Then a few years later I added on a 500 sq ft. family room with a three-season porch. I’ve had a ”hands-on” role with all of my real estate transactions and construction projects.
As an added bonus, my certification in energy auditing gives me expertise in energy management. Look for my “Go Green” category where I write about simple ”do it yourself” methods to help you cut back on your home’s utility bills.
Over the years I have built up a personal treasure trove of shortcuts, handy hints, product reviews and more that I am excited to share with you. So please, feel free to pass along anything you find valuable to someone in need.
See you on the next page,
Jeff
